Holy Guacamole!

I’m baaaaaaack!

What the flip, Tessa? You start a blog series, then drop off the face of the planet for three months? What gives?!

Put simply, I got dumped, quit my job, and moved 9 hours away, all very quickly. Put even more simply, life happens. But the important thing is I’m BACK! I’m really excited to start writing again. Please forgive me for my absence and for COMPLETELY leaving you hanging on the “Hosting Your Own Craft Swap” series. Part 2 will pick up on Tuesday, and then everything thing will be back to normal! *fingers crossed*

So what’s new with you anyway?

I moved from Kansas City, MO to Denver, CO. I’m currently in the market for local friends/quilting-related things/general awesome stuff to do.

I’m also getting back into sewing. I definitely lot my sew-jo (and maybe my blog-jo?) for a while there. But at the moment I’m really into sewing bags and wallets. I’m planning on selling my stuff as well. You can find listings for my makes on my Spreesy store (how I sell through Instagram) and on my Etsy page.

I’m also going to take this time in my life to really focus on what I want to be doing. I’m determined to start a career in the quilting industry, even if I’m not 100% sure what that is going to look like yet. I’m hoping to really get my name out there and let people see what I can do. I’d love to do sample sewing for fabric designers and manufacturers. My ultimate goal is to design my own fabric and patterns, as well as write books and teach classes. I’ll do it! One day!

Which reminds me! I released my first pattern while I was away! My “That Red Cup” pattern can be found FOR FREE on my Craftsy page! If you haven’t tried paper piecing yet, this pattern is a great place to start!

Anything I can do to help?

Yes! Now that I’m back to blogging, it’d be super helpful if you could tag me anytime you see a newly opened swap, so I can list it on the blog. Also, if you could check out my makes, or spread the word, I’d be forever grateful. AND since you’re reading this, that means you’re awesome and SHALL BE REWARDED! Use the coupon code holyguacamole for 20% off anything in my Etsy shop OR my Spreesy store! (note – I’m currently out of town for Thanksgiving. When I get back home I’ll be making a LOT more stuff for the shop, so keep your eyes peeled!)

I’ll be back to posting regularly every Tuesday starting December 1st. While you’re waiting, here’s some past posts to read (or read again!)

Thanks all!

Welcome back… I’m currently trying to end an unintentional month and a half long blog hiatus. All different than your stuff, but lots of “life happening.” :-/ On the up side, I kept sewing, so I have lots to write about. I just need to do it and get back on track. Your bags on etsy are super cute. (P.S. You might want to update your location on Etsy.) Best wishes for making new connections in the Denver area.

  2. Welcome back. Holy Guacamole!

  3. Enjoy Denver! We almost moved there but Portland won. They have some amazing fabric shops though from what I can see, locally owned, not Joann or Hancock’s and whatnot. Glad you’re back!
